How Much Does a New Boiler Cost in South East London and North Kent?
A new boiler in South East London and North Kent starts at £1,999 including VAT and fitting for a Glow-Worm Compact 24kw combi. Most straightforward swaps land between £1,999 and £2,819. The price goes up when the boiler moves position, when you're changing system type, or when the flue needs scaffolding.

Why most boiler pages won't give you a number
Search for boiler prices, and you'll find a lot of articles about "factors affecting cost" that never actually say what anything costs.

What a straight swap costs
A straight swap is a combi boiler coming off the wall and a new combi going back in the same place, on the same pipework.
This is the most common job we do across Bromley, Sidcup, Bexleyheath and Dartford, and it's the cheapest because there's no reworking involved.

Step up to a Vaillant or a Worcester, and you're into the £2,699 to £2,819 range, mostly for the longer warranty. Whether that's worth it depends on how long you plan to stay in the house.

What pushes the price up
Four things, in roughly the order they turn up.
Moving the boiler
Plenty of people take the chance to move a boiler out of the kitchen and into a garage, loft or utility. It's a sensible move if you're redoing the kitchen anyway.
It also means new gas, water and condensate runs, and a new flue. Expect several hundred pounds on top, sometimes more if the pipework has to cross the house.
Changing system type
Going from a system boiler with a hot water cylinder to a combi is a bigger job than it sounds. The cylinder comes out, the tank in the loft goes, and the pipework gets reworked.
You gain an airing cupboard. You'll pay for the day or two of extra work.
Whether it's the right move depends on how many bathrooms you've got, which is worth reading up on before you decide.
Pipework and radiators
Older properties sometimes still have narrow-bore pipework, or radiators full of sludge after years of running. A new boiler pushed through a dirty system won't perform, and most manufacturer warranties expect the system to be cleaned.
A system flush is a few hundred pounds. It isn't an upsell — a new boiler on an old dirty system is how you end up with cold radiators and a void warranty.
Access and the flue
If the flue exits somewhere awkward and needs scaffolding or a tower, that's a real cost, and it's nothing to do with us. We'll tell you before we quote, not after.
So what should I budget?
As a rough guide for a typical three-bed in the Bromley, Sidcup or Bexleyheath area:
Straight combi swap, same position: £1,999 to £2,819
Combi swap plus a system flush: add a few hundred
Moving the boiler: add several hundred to around a thousand
Cylinder system converted to a combi: usually £3,000 and up
Anyone quoting well under those numbers is either leaving something out or isn't Gas Safe registered. Ask to see the card.
Is it worth repairing instead of getting a new boiler?
Sometimes, and we'll say so.
If your boiler is under about eight years old, the fault is a known part, and the rest of the system is sound, a repair is often the sensible answer. We'd rather fix it and have you ring us again in five years.
Past ten or twelve years, when parts are getting hard to find, and it's the second or third breakdown, you're usually spending good money after bad.

Do I need to be home? Someone needs to let us in and be there at the end so we can run through the controls. You don't need to sit with us all day.
